The invention relates to an occlusion instrument (1) and a method for producing an occlusion instrument (1). The occlusion instrument (1) consists substantially of nitinol, a material having a shape memory function, wherein the basic form is manufactured from a tube using lasered shaped elements (2). In the expanded state, the occlusion instrument (1) has a proximal and a distal retention area (10, 9) as well as an interposed cylindrical waist (13). Because the lasered shaped elements (2) can be specifically adapted to the shape characteristics of the occlusion instrument (1), the discs (11, 12) lie extremely flat on the septum wall and no bulging or stretching of the occlusion instrument brought about by the shunt can occur, as is possible for both the conventional mesh occluders. In the production method according to the invention, a laser technique is used, in which the end shape of the shaped elements (2) is introduced in a corresponding nitinol tube via lasered recesses. Subsequently, the end shape of the occlusion instrument (1) is obtained through a suitable deformation and heat treatment method. Due to the diversity of shaped elements (2) to be lasered, which are securely connected to one another, the occlusion instrument (1) can be applied in a modified manner as a PFO-, ASD-, VSD- and/or paravalvular leak occluder. |
