The invention relates to a tank with a water-level indicator for plant-watering purposes (soil cultures and hydrocultures), the tank mainly operating by the subatmospheric-pressure principle, and the water-level indicator being operated by means of deflected pairs of floats. Conventional subatmospheric-pressure tanks do not use water-level indicators, or the only ones proposed are those with a very high display displacement. Furthermore, the tanks are configured in a rather bulky, flat and long manner. They should, however, be narrow and high. The object of the invention is achieved by a tank (1) with a prefabricated base (2). A pivot plate (6) is fastened in the central region of the shaft of the tank. The water level is indicated (21) by said plate by means of the crossbar (7) and the connecting bar (14). The movement (16) is effected by two floating parts (10). The short display displacement of the indicator (12) is possible because the floats (10) are guided along the crossbar (7) and parts move in the form of rockers (16). The viewing-dome shaft (3) has been lengthened some way (4) into the tank interior (20) - for the purpose of better viewing-sleeve guidance (12/21). <IMAGE>
