Monitoring sensors which produce electrical analog signals - comparing fluctuations of sensor signals with plausible fluctuations due to observes process

System-dependent variations in the sensor signal are analysed wrt. frequency and/or amplitude and compared with plausible variations dependent on the process under observation. A detector is connected to each sensor being monitored to detect the sensor signal fluctuations and to a comparator. The comparator compares the magnitude of the detected fluctuation with a plausible magnitude dependent on the observed process. USE/ADVANTAGE - For process monitoring using temp., pressure or velocity sensors. Eg for tachometer, which produces periodic amplitude fluctuations as well as speed-proportional voltages. Enables detection of faulty sensors.
