PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recombinant protein which has antimicrobial activity, can obtain transgenic plants having resistance to damage due to disease and is useful for medicines or the like, e.g. antimicrobials or the like, by including a specific amino acid sequence. SOLUTION: This recombinant protein is composed of (A) the amino acid sequence of formula I or the like or (B) the sequence in which at least one of amino acids lack, substituted or added on the amino acid sequence of formula I or the like and possesses antimicrobial activity. Further, the antimicrobial protein is preferably produced by cultivating the transformant containing the recombinant vector which contains the antimicrobial protein gene that codes for this protein or the DNA consisting of the base sequence of formula II or the like, and the transgenic plants are favorably prepared by including the antimicrobial protein gene. |
