PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the field of application of deformation prevention devices for heat-treatment to a plurality of cylinder-barreled members, and make the devices reusable. SOLUTION: A deformation prevention device 10 has a central structure part 11 from which four telescopic arms 12 of a hydraulic cylinder drive type extend radially. The telescopic arms 12 are driven telescopically by means of oil pressure supplied thereto via a supply pipe 21 from an oil pressure/cooling unit 20 disposed outside a heating furnace 2. After the deformation prevention device 10 is positioned inside a cylinder-barreled member 3 with its telescopic arms 12 shortened, an extension of the telescopic arms 12 secures the deformation prevention device 10 in the cylinder-barreled member 3 to reinforce it.
