PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability and safety by protecting a rectifier and an inverter circuit against an overvoltage when a DC voltage to be applied to the inverter circuit is the overvoltage in an inverter device for driving a motor by the inverter circuit. SOLUTION: An AC power source 1 is connected to the rectifier 4 via a power source switching means 3. The motor 6 is driven by the inverter circuit 5 for converting a DC power of the rectifier 4 into an AC power. The inverter circuit 5 is controlled by a control means 11. The means 11 has an inverter control circuit 11a for controlling the means 3 and the circuit 5, an inverter drive circuit 11b for driving the circuit 5 according to an output signal of the control circuit 11a, a relay drive circuit 11c for controlling to switch on or off the means 3, and a voltage detecting circuit 11d for detecting the DC voltage of the circuit 5. The mean 11 cuts off the means 3 if the DC voltage detected by the means 11d is a set value or more. |
