PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for an ultrasonic angle beam method for calculating accurately a flaw detection angle of refraction and a nominal angle of refraction from the nominal angle of refraction and the flaw detection angle of refraction of an ultrasonic angle probe. SOLUTION: The flaw detection angle of refractionθ2 which is an angle with respect to a normal to a test surface S of an ultrasonic wave refracted by an inspection object B comprising a prescribed solid material and progressing in the inspection object B, or the nominal angle of refractionθ1 which is an angle with respect to the normal to the test surface S of the ultrasonic wave progressing in a reference solid material A determined beforehand, is calculated based on: the nominal angle of refractionθ1 or the flaw detection angle of refractionθ2; a propagation velocity V1 of the ultrasonic wave progressing at the nominal angle of refractionθ1; a propagation velocity V2(θ2) of the ultrasonic wave progressing at the flaw detection angle of refractionθ2 in the inspection object set as a function of the flaw detection angle of refractionθ2; and a function F(V2(θ2)) of the V2(θ2) set beforehand.
