PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for a ball-point pen, usable for a ball-point pen having a structure to directly fill the ink into an ink-holding tube, generating little leakage of the ink after writing and causing little dripping in writing. SOLUTION: The ink composition for a ball-point pen has at least shear thixotropy and the absolute value of the difference between the shear stress measured by increasing the shear rate and the shear stress measured by decreasing the shear stress is≤2.0 Pa at 25°C within the total shear rate range of≥0 (1/s) and≤1,000 (1/s), wherein the shear rate is increased from 0 (1/s) to 1,000 (1/s) and continuously decreased to 0 (1/s).
