<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet retransmission method and a bidirectional radio system that improve a retransmission rate of packets in a communication method of making an automatic retransmission request. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a master device fails to perform synchronization processing normally on a signal of a synchronous part from a slave device, the master device transmits a synchronous NAK signal to the slave device, which sets synchronous delivery non-confirmation (synchronous ACK_NG) in transmission status information and retransmits the signal of the synchronous part. When the master device fails to determine the system information normally with respect to the signal of the data part from the slave device, the master device transmits a data NAK signal to the slave device, and when the slave device receives the NAK signal, the slave device sets system information delivery non-confirmation (INFO information_NG) in the transmission status information and retransmits the signal of the data part to the master device. Thus, the retransmission processing for the signal is repeated until the transmission status information does not have settings of synchronous delivery non-confirmation and system information delivery non-confirmation or until a time-out state is entered.
