<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin material having good operation efficiency by solving problems that terminal treating operation during carrying out wiring is not easily carried out though a resin composition prepared by compounding an inorganic flame retardant such as magnesium hydroxide in place of PVC as a nonpollution type flame-retardant resin composition without generating hydrogen halides having toxicity during combustion is used as a sheath layer or an insulating layer of electric wires/cables, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin material is a composition composed of 100 pts.mass of a resin component containing at least one kind of an ethylene-α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester copolymer, an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer and an ultralow-density ethylene-α-olefin copolymer, a polyethylene resin and a functional group-containing olefin polymer and 30-200 pts.mass of the inorganic flame retardant.
