A dye-receiving element for thermal dye transfer has a polyolefin or polyolefin-coated substrate carrying, in order, (i) a subbing layer contg. a reaction prod. of a mixt. of (a) an amino-functional organo-oxysilane and (b) a hydrophobic organo-oxysilane, and (ii) a dye image-receiving layer. Also claimed is (A) an imaging process involving heating a dye donor element imagewise and transferring the dye image to the above receiving element; and (B) an assembly comprising the above receiving element superposed on a dye donor element.
