PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor which shows stable electric characteristics under any environment and hardly causes dielectric breakdown in an electrophotographic process using a contact electrification method by incorporating dichlorotin phthalocyanine and a binder resin into an undercoat layer. SOLUTION: This photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer with an undercoat layer on a supporting body, and the undercoat layer contains dichlorotin phthalocyanine and a binder resin. As for the dichlorotin phthalocyanine used in the undercoat layer, a compd. showing sharp diffraction peaks at 8.4, 12.2, 19.4, 22.3, 28.2, 30.0 Bragg angle (2θ±0.2 deg.) is preferably used because it hardly causes changes in the electric resistance with environmental changes. Further, a dichlorotin phthalocyanine deriv. soluble with an org. solvent is preferably used, and in this deriv., one of hydrogen atoms in the benzene ring is substituted with -R, -OR or the like.
