PURPOSE: Provided is a chewing gum composition which contains wheat gluten. Therefore, the composition has soft texture and inhibits the formation of plaque on teeth. CONSTITUTION: The chewing gum composition is characterized by containing wheat gluten and soy protein, wherein the weight ratio of the chewing gum base to the wheat gluten is 0.2:1 to 1:1, and the weight ratio of the soy protein to the wheat gluten is 0.2:1 to 2:1. It further contains sweetener selected from glucose, sucrose, sorbitol, mannitol or synthetic sweetener.
