<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elucidate a novel orphan receptor and to use it for searching a therapeutic agent for related diseases and for testing an influential material. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to a novel estrogen receptor-related nuclear receptor termed "ER beta" having a specific amino acid sequence, substantially same amino acid sequence as the amino acid sequence or an amino acid sequence functionally similar to that sequence, and a DNA sequence encoding the receptor. The receptor may be useful in isolating molecules for the treatment of disorders such as prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, osteoporosis or cardiovascular disorders and in the testing of substances for estrogenic and other hormonal effects. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
