PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing device for an occupant sitting on a child seat, reducing shocks applied to the occupant sitting on the child seat even in an existing child seat. SOLUTION: In a vehicle seat 20 provided with a shock absorbing device, a child seat 10 is fixed in contact with the seat 20 by various fixing devices. At the time of collision, the child seat 10, on which the occupant sits, moves in a forward downward direction by loads applied at the time of collision, so that the child seat 10 moved in the forward downward direction compresses a shock absorbing material 30. Compression loads are applied to the shock absorbing material 30, so that the shock absorbing material 30 absorbs impact loads of collision to be applied to the occupant sitting on the child seat 10 while the material is crushed.
