A system and method for attaching multiple electrical components to a heat sink is disclosed. The apparatus includes a pair of spacers for each component. T he spacers define a uniform distance between a circuit board and a base of a he at sink. Each spacer is secured to the circuit board and determines a distance from a base of the component to the circuit board. The heat sink is attached to t he assembly by a plurality of threaded fasteners that extend through the circui t board, through a center space of the spacers and into threaded recesses of t he heat sink.
