<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve facilitation of filter attaching work without damaging a filter, while achieving miniaturization without decreasing strength. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A filter holding mechanism includes: a filter frame 301 equipped with an aperture piercing through along an optical path and formed of a metal sheet; an IR cut filter 206 and a dummy filter 207 arranged to be opposed to the filter frame 301 so as to cover the aperture; and a hook part 701 provided in the filter frame 301 to project in a plate thickness direction of the filter frame 301 from the vicinity of a periphery of the aperture, formed in such shape that its edge is bent or curved to cover each of the ends of the IR cut filter 206 and the dummy filter 207, and locking the IR cut filter 206 and the dummy filter 207 on the filter frame 301 by catching each of the ends of the IR cut filter 206 and the dummy filter 207 by its edge.
