PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power supply system including a power generator and an electric power storage unit capable of preventing power consumption by the power generator from the electric power storage unit during a power failure.SOLUTION: An electric power supply system 100 includes: an electric power storage unit 103 that supplies stored electric power to an electric power load 102; a power generator 104 which is activated by the electric power supplied from a system power source 101 or an electric power storage unit 103 and supplies generated electric power to the electric power load 102; and a control unit 105 that controls the electric power supplied to the power generator 104. When the power generator 104 is in a power generation stop state, if the control unit 105 detects the stop of electric power supply from the system power source 101, the power generator 104 controls to reduce the electric power consumed during the power generation stop state to thereby electric power consumption from the electric power storage unit 103 can be reduced during the power failure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
