The patent application relates to a method and an apparatus for carrying out the method for charging a supply container with a dry mixture comprising a plurality of fine- and coarse-grained materials, the mixture being fed at the upper side of the supply container and passes, via an inlet, into the supply container. In the charging of supply containers for dry mixtures, in known installations, the mixture falls through the container in free fall and, as a result, is partially separated again. The method according to the invention and the novel apparatus are distinguished in that the dry mixture is filled into a concertina-like hose which is attached to the inlet of the supply container and which, under the weight of the mixture, stretches as far as the bottom of the container and is raised again by means of a controlled drive, the mixture emerging into the supply container in relatively small quantities without separation of the individual materials resulting.
