<p>PURPOSE:To enable measurement of the amount of CO in a gas to be analyzed accurately by a method wherein the gas to be analyzed is brought into contact with particles of bivalent ion type metal oxide to adsorb CO molecules and an adsorption value thereof is measured. CONSTITUTION:ZnO fine particles are sealed into a cell 11 and the cell 11 is heated while being exhausted into vacuum to purify the surface of the ZnO fine particles. Then, a valve 12 is closed while a valve 15 is opened to let a gas to be analyzed suck by a specified amount into the cell 11 from an input terminal 17. From this point on, an air pressure within the cell 11 rises so that the gas to be analyzed flows by convection to get the Co2 molecules in the gas to be analyzed all adsorbed by the ZnO fine particles. The gas left in the cell 11 is exhausted to turn ON and Xe lamp 24 and the CO2 molecules adsorbed on the surface of the ZnO fine particles is caused to react on H2O molecules to determine the concentration of CO2 by organic molecules formed. This enables the measuring of the amount of CO2 accurately.</p> |
