摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound having high refractive index anisotropy, excellent compatibility with other (non) liquid crystal materials, chemical stability, useful as a liquid crystal electric display element having high response speed, etc. CONSTITUTION: This compound is shown by formula I [A<1> to A<4> are each (a halogen, CH3 or CN-substituted) trans-1,4-cyclohexylene, (a halogen, CH3 or CN-substituted) phenylene, etc.; B<1> and B<2> are each (a halogen, CH3 or CN- substituted) phenylene, etc.; Y<1> to Y<4> are each single bond, COO, O, OCO, etc.; X<1> and X<2> are each F, Cl or Br; R<1> is a 1-10C alkyl, etc.; R<2> is R<1> , a halogen, CN or NCS; when both R<1> and R<2> are alkyls, the sum of carbons is 3-20; (m), (n), (p) and (q) are each 0 or 1] such as trans-1,2-difluoro-1,2-bis(4-propylphenyl) ethylene.
