PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal equipment with which just a single input operation suffices when the same password data is available for each read of data together with a significant improvement of a use convenience and also to provide a key collation method. SOLUTION: A portable terminal unit 1 receives an IC card 10 storing data for each of plural applications and reads the data out of the card 10 to show them at a display part 2. At the same time, the password type information is set to show the types of passwords to perform the collation of keys for every application, and a storage means is prepared to store the password data inputted at the last time and the password type information on these data. When an application is selected, the password type information corresponding to the selected application is compared with the password type information stored in the storage means. If both information are coincident with each other, the collation of keys is carried out based on the password data stored in the storage means. |
