<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of preventing breakage of a fuel battery cell and opening of a cell stack. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell is provided with the cell stack 60 wherein a plurality of fuel battery cells 62 are fixed to a manifold 58 with a prescribed gap in an erected condition and a current collecting member 76 is interposed between the adjacent fuel battery cells 62.
