Described herein are architectures, platforms and methods for implementing an orientation-agnostic millimeter-wave (mm-wave) antenna in a portable device.

a waveguide; a radio frequency (RF) module configured to transmit or receive wireless signals through the waveguide; and a RF signal transition that couples the RF module to the waveguide, the RF signal transition is a RF connector that comprises:
a connector housing; anda feed-probe disposed within the connector housing, the feed-probe manipulates the transmission or reception of the wireless signals; wherein the waveguide comprises an open-end that acts as an antenna.
