<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device and a cutting method wherein machining efficiencies can be improved, the formation of burrs from workpieces can be suppressed, and the life of blades can be prolonged. SOLUTION: The cutting device includes a rotation axis 4 to turn a blade 6 about the center 5 of the axis 4 in a blade turning direction 7 and the blade 6 which is fixed to the axis 4 and moves at a blade moving velocity VLB. The center 5 of the axis is rotated at a predetermined axis center rotational speeds VRA larger than the velocity VLB and at high speed with a small rotation diameter. Thus, the blade 6 is pressed against a base plate 3 to cut it, whereby chips 8 are produced and the blade 6 is pulled apart from the plate 3 so that the chips 8 are moved in the turning direction 7 and discharged from between the edge of the blade 6 and the plate 3. As a result, machining performances can be improved, and the frictional heat generated at the surface of the blade 6 can be reduced. Further, the frictional heat is dissipated so that the life of the blade can be prolonged.</p> |
