<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a discharge area in a low oxygen concentration condition by suppressing outside air from entering the discharge area. <P>SOLUTION: A charging member 32 is provided so as to be kept in a positionally fixed standstill state at least during charging operation to prevent the member 32 from being moved even when the outside air flows from an upstream side with the rotation of a photoreceptor 11, thereby suppressing a situation that the outside air flows into the discharge area with the movement of the charging member. Thus, the discharge area 33 into which low oxygen concentration gas is introduced through an introduction member 35 is kept in the low oxygen concentration condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
