PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method accurately evaluating, simply in a short time, electron emission characteristics of a CNT emitter with fluctuating electron emission characteristics not in a vacuum environment but in an air atmosphere. SOLUTION: The electron emission characteristics of the CNT emitter is estimated by accurately measuring changes of reflective light intensity of a minute level from a CNT film in the air atmosphere.
