[Problem] To reduce, without hindering the movement of a strap, damage on the strap caused by the heat of an inflation gas, the strap restricting the shape of expansion of an airbag. [Solution] This airbag device is provided with: a strap configured in such a manner that, within the airbag, a first end of the strap is affixed to the vicinity of an inflator and a second end of the strap is affixed to part of the airbag; and a protective fabric disposed at the portion of the strap which is located in the vicinity of the first end of the strap and which is hit by gas discharged from the inflator, the protective fabric being provided so as to cover the strap. The lower edge of the protective fabric is affixed by sewing to the airbag together with the first end of the strap, and the upper edge of the protective fabric is formed as an open section having a greater width than the strap. As a result, the protective fabric does not hinder the movement of the strap. |
