PURPOSE:To provide a cutting tool made of a diamond group extra-high pressure sintered material excellent in wear resistance. CONSTITUTION:A cutting tool is made up of a diamond group extrahigh pressure sintered material having a composition consisting of 1 to 20vol.% of the carbonate of lanthanoids (La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Tb, Dy, Er, and Yb) as a dispersed phase formative element as well as one kind or two or more kinds of compound carbonates consisting of the solid solution of at least two kinds of these lanthanoid carbonates, and the remainder of diamond which substantially forms the base. |
