PURPOSE: To obtain the digital video data recording system in which data to be recorded are recorded in a recording medium without missing by conducting proper coding in response to a type of image information and not conducting motion detection at recording so as to suppress power consumption. CONSTITUTION: The system is provided with a signal source 1, a motion detection means 3, an external storage means 8 storing motion vector data, a coding means 11, a recording means 17, and a control means 7 conducting acquisition of motion vector data and quantization step size data in the pre-processing, using moving vector data and quantization step size data read from the external storage means 8 in the recording processing so as to conduct coding and controlling coded image information to be recorded on a recording medium of the recording means 17. |
