<p>Provided is a method for measuring the resistance of cells to the cytotoxic effects of a chemotherapeutic agent, which method comprises testing a sample comprising cells or an extract therefrom for: a) the level of expression of p21, or for the abundance of p21 protein; and b) the level of expression of Cyclin D1, or for the abundance of Cyclin D1 protein. Also provided is a kit for measuring the resistance of cells to the cytotoxic effects of a chemotherapeutic agent, which kit comprises: I) a means for testing for the level of expression of p21, or for the abundance of p21 protein; and ii) a means for testing for the level of expression of Cyclin D1, or for the abundance of Cyclin D1 protein.</p> |
