PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably perform prevention of shift and a directional switchover of movement of a tool rest by a simple device. SOLUTION: The tool rest 26 attached a cutter is moved, by a rotation of a lead screw axis 27, to a width direction of a recording paper and the recording paper is cut. A lead groove 57 which fits a follower pin attached at the tool rest, and endless grooves 64, 65 which are linked both ends of the lead groove 57 are formed on the lead screw axis 27. Feeding of the tool rest 26 is stopped when the follower pin is entered into the endless grooves 64, 65. In this situation, the tool rest 26 is pushed toward return direction by protruding pins 67, 68. When the lead screw axis is reversed, the follower pin is got easily into the lead groove 57 from the endless grooves 64, 65.
