PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diazonium salt having high preservation stability without anxiety about explosiveness with slight formation of decomposed stains. SOLUTION: This diazonium salt is characterized in that the salt is represented by the following general formula (1) [R<1> is a branched alkyl group; R<2> and R<3> are each an alkyl group (R<2> and R<3> together may be bound to form a ring); R<4> to R<6> are each hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group (R<4> and R<5> together may be bound to form a ring); and X<-> is an anion].
