<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unify a plurality of data files to one print document by staple printing the files. <P>SOLUTION: After a message for inquiring the presence or absence of a staple print is displayed on a screen (S1), whether the staple print is performed or not is determined (S2). In the case of staple printing, a user selects a desired data file from a chart (S3, S4) and designates an order of the respective data files (S5). The selected data files are coupled (S6) and print data is generated (S7). A printer receives the print data, prints it (S9, S10) and determines whether the staple print is designated or not (S11).
