PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for introducing material with which introduction material is introduced into a target cell while suppressing electrical damage with the use of electroporation.SOLUTION: The method for introducing material for introducing an introduction material into a target cell comprises a burst pulse application step for applying a burst pulse in which an asymmetrical reference pulse constituted by keeping a level of a fixed potential value for a predetermined time period during positive and negative change of polarity is repeated in the same period, to a target cell immersed in solution containing the introduction material, and a high-voltage pulse application step for applying a high voltage pulse that has voltage higher than that of the reference pulse constituting the burst pulse and is shorter in time, to the target cell for one ON time after the application by the burst pulse application step. The method introduces the introduction material to the target cell while suppressing electrical damage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
