摘要 The invention relates to a rotor (4) of a synchronous salient pole machine (1), in particular for driving rod mills in a gearless manner, comprising a plurality of pole segments (6) which are arranged in a circular manner about a rotational axis (5) of the rotor (4). A pole segment (6) has at least one pole element (8), and a pole element (8) has an iron pole part (9) and an excitation coil (10), said excitation coil (10) being wound about the iron pole part (9). The aim of the invention is to ensure a faster and less expensive start-up process and a more efficient and less expensive operation of the synchronous salient pole machine (1) in comparison to the prior art. This is achieved in that the iron pole part (9) has a complete coating (23) which is designed to be electrically insulating and is provided in order to prevent a short-circuit between the excitation coil (10) and the iron pole part (9).
