Provided are a base station and a communication control method which prevent the battery consumption of a mobile station due to a mobile station reverting from a discontinuous reception (DRX) state to a non-DRX state as a result of receiving a timing advance. A base station (100A) is provided with: a timing advance (TA) control unit (105) that periodically sends a timing advance, which can be used to adjust deviations in transmission timings from a mobile station (200), to the mobile station in an uplink; and a DRX control unit (109) that sends a DRX command MAC control element (CE), which controls a DRX state in which a control channel is intermittently received, to the base station. The TA control unit (105) stops the transmission of a timing advance if the DRX control unit (109) determines that a DRX command MAX CE is to be sent to the mobile station. |
