<p>PURPOSE: To realize a high compression rate of picture data in the bit map system. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 103 receives picture data, which is stored in a VRAM 106 in the bit map system, through a VDP 105 and stores it in a RAM 104. Proportions of boundary lines to display areas are obtained for each color code with respect to picture data stored in the RAM 104. Thereafter, boundary lines are generated (detected) in accordance with the order of proportions of boundary lines obtained for each color code. After this generation (detection) or boundary lines, generated boundary lines and display areas divided by these boundary lines are encoded by preliminarily determined methods respectively.</p> |
