PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition containing a vasodepressor activity- exhibiting component obtainable from fruit bodies of Mycoleptodonoides aitchisonii, which is safe and less expensive, further stably obtainable all over the year by artificial culturing, and stable in quality, and useful for preventing hypertension attributable to angiotensin I conversion enzyme and the like and/or improving its symptom; and to provide foods and beverages such as functional beverages containing the pharmaceutical composition, and having vasodepressor activity and excellent palatability. SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition containing a vasodepressor activity- exhibiting component obtainable from fruit bodies of Mycoleptodonoides aitchisonii, preferably from fruit bodies of Mycoleptodonoides aitchisonii of artificial culture, especially of mushroom bed culture, for example, a pharmaceutical composition containing a hot water-extraction solution or a hot water-extraction product of the fruit body as an active ingredient, and useful for preventing hypertension and/or improving its symptom. Foods and beverages are prepared by using the pharmaceutical composition. Especially, when beverages are prepared, the flock formation and browning during storage can be suppressed by subjecting them to a purification treatment such as a bentonite treatment or an alcohol treatment after a hot water extraction. |
