<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiport amplifier, and a method for compensating distortion of the multiport amplifier in which distortion is compensated stably with high precision. <P>SOLUTION: The multiport amplifier comprises a first distributing/synthesizing means having (2<SP>N</SP>-1) input terminals for inputting radio frequency signals individually and a single input terminal for inputting a pilot signal and distributing/synthesizing these radio frequency signals and the pilot signal to 2<SP>N</SP>output terminals, 2<SP>N</SP>amplifying means for amplifying the radio frequency signals and the pilot signal supplied through the 2<SP>N</SP>output terminals individually, a second distributing/synthesizing means having 2<SP>N</SP>output terminals and distributing/synthesizing the signals outputted from the 2<SP>N</SP>amplifying means to these output terminals, and a control means for sustaining the power of a pilot signal transmitted to a specific output terminal of the second distributing/synthesizing means at a specified level or within a specified range with regard to the transmission characteristics of the 2<SP>N</SP>amplifying means or the characteristics of the radio frequency signal source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
