An apparatus for manufacturing red ginseng in such a manner in which fresh ginseng is heated with steam, drying without steam and repeating the above procedure 9 times is provided to produce red ginseng having an increased content of ginsenoside Rg3, Rg5, Rh2, Rh4 and the like. A red ginseng making apparatus comprises: a bed plate(10) on which a heating container(18) is placed and having a sheath heater inside; a semicircular support(12) opened at the front side at the upper part of the semicircular support; an upper opened cylindrical body(14) with a bottom part(24) at the upper part of the semicircular support; and a transparent glass cap(50) at the upper part of the cylindrical body. The red ginseng making apparatus is characterized in that it contains: a funnel(42) with an outlet port(40) at the central bottom at the upper inside of the upper opened cylindrical body; a steam tube(28) extended to the heating container at the bottom; a wire mesh-type container at the upper inside of the funnel to receive fresh ginseng(46); a sheath heater inside the upper opened cylindrical body; and communicating tube(52) communicating with the steam tube at a cover(22) of the heating container.
