In order to provide a piston ring that has excellent scuffing resistance and abrasion resistance, even when used in harsh environments wherein pressure and thermal load are increased, and in order to provide a piston ring that can also avoid edge loading, a first curved surface of an outer peripheral sliding surface according to the present invention protrudes to the outside in a cross-section that passes through the central axis of a piston ring and that is parallel to said central axis, and the radius of curvature of said first curved surface continuously increases or decreases from a crank chamber side to a combustion chamber side. |
