The invention concerns a method for automatically correcting slow gain variations in a phase servo loop with a complex transfer function of the frequency represented in the Nyquist plane. In a preferred embodiment, the associated device essentially comprises a digital signal processing element (33) and annex circuit elements (adder (30), converters (31 and 34), memory (32), oscillator (35), logic circuit (36), reader-recorder controller (37)) for processing a signal (R) derived from reading the marks engraved on a digital optical disk and containing in particular a part for the synchronisation and phase adjustment of the reader-recorder clock (hp). The invention is particularly applicable to a phase servo loop of a digital optical disk reader-recorder reading clock.
