<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out intravascular brachytherapy while avoiding the exchange of various catheters and monitoring OCT (optical coherence tomography) simultaneously. <P>SOLUTION: In an apparatus for carrying out and monitoring intravascular brachytherapy, a β-ray or γ-ray radiator radiates radiation for the suppression of structural blood vessel change to prevent restinosis after elimination of plaque in a blood vessel wall, in a tip range of a catheter, and monitoring by optical coherence tomography (OCT) is performed at the same time, wherein a catheter for brachytherapy is built into one unit together with an OCT catheter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
