PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alicyclic epoxy compound which is excellent in reproducibility, uniformity and stability of hue and has slight lowering of radial luminous intensity as LED with time and is suitable as a LED sealing material. SOLUTION: This alicyclic epoxy compound is obtained by selectively hydrogenating the aromatic ring of an aromatic epoxy compound in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst, bringing the alicyclic epoxy compound into contact with an absorbent to remove a platinum group element in the alicyclic epoxy compound. |
