摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain high transfer density and high image quality and to improve the thermal fusion of an image receiving material and a dye donating material at the time of thermal transfer by constituting at least the outermost layer of an image receiving layer wherein a dye acceptive substance at least partially crosslinked is dispersed in a water-soluble binder. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer image receiving material provided with at least one image receiving layer receiving a dye to form an image, at least the outermost layer thereof is composed of an image receiving layer wherein a dye acceptive substance at least partially crosslinked is dispersed in a water- soluble binder. The crosslinking agent crosslinking the dye acceptive substance is polyisocyanate and the water-soluble binder is one containing no primary or secondary amino group. The dye acceptive substance is composed of a dye acceptive polymer and/or a high b.p. org. solvent or a hot solvent and more pref. composed of a combination of the dye acceptive polymer and the hot solvent. As the especially pref. dye acceptive polymer, a polyester resin is designated. The crosslinking agent is used more pref. within a range of 1 - 20% by wt. of the dye acceptive polymer.
