The package consists of an envelope (2) receiving the product (3), with a small-diameter hole (11) formed in one end portion (10). The hole is surrounded by an area (13) covered in a thin layer of adhesive material on its inner surface, such that the adjacent side panels of the envelope adhere to each other to block the hole. The adhesive is stable at temperatures greater than about 70 deg.C., but allows the panels to detach from each other under conditions of internal pressure in the envelope. When internal pressure is released, the panels re-adhere to seal the hole closed. ADVANTAGE - Ensures immediate sealing of envelope after pressure release and avoids risk of contamination of contents by adhesive.
