<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus using a rotary developing system, wherein a time required for a setup operation is shortened. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming part 50 of the image forming apparatus, in the case of forming a normal image, a reference mark provided at a prescribed position of an intermediate transfer belt 511 is detected by a reference mark sensor 517, then, a primary transfer from a photoreceptor drum 501 is performed, based on the detection timing. On the other hand, in the case of performing the setup operation, that is, in the case of forming a toner pattern for adjustment, each color toner image is formed not depending on the detection result by the reference mark sensor 517 in the image forming apparatus. By having such the constitution, since each color toner image is formed without waiting for one rotation of the intermediate transfer belt 511, the setup operation is performed at high speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
