PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which can generate image data of a desired size irrespective of a variation in a peripheral environment.SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus includes: a reading unit 22 which reads the image of an object; a motor 27 for moving the reading unit 22; and a control unit 31 for controlling the reading unit 22 and the motor 27. When the motor 27 does not step out, the control unit 31 controls the motor 27 to move the reading unit 22 at a high speed and also the reading unit 22 to execute first reading operation to read an image, whereas when the motor 27 steps out, the control unit 31 controls the motor 27 to move the reading unit 22 at a low speed read and also the reading unit 22 to execute second reading operation to read an image, so as to generate image data whose resolution is lower than high resolution in association with the low speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
