PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine that can secure electric conduction between a metal cap and conductor winding while reliably preventing exposure of the conductor winding.SOLUTION: An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine has a winding resistor 4. The winding resistor 4 has: a core material 5 having an insulation property; a conductor winding 6 spirally wound around an outer periphery of the core material 5; a pair of metal caps 7 which are arranged on both ends in a shaft direction Z of the core material 5 and contact the conductor winding 6; and a resin coating material 8 which is arranged to closely adhere to the core material 5 and the conductor winding 6. The resin coating material 8 is charged between the conductor winding 6 in the shaft direction Z and formed to coat the conductor winding 6 from an outer periphery side. The metal caps 7 have bottom face parts 71 opposing to the core material 5 from the shaft direction Z and tubular side face parts 72 erected in the shaft direction Z from outer peripheral edges of the bottom face parts 71. Near inner peripheries of the side face parts 72 are formed along a direction crossing the winding direction of the conductor winding 6 protrusion parts 73 protruding inward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
